Richard "Whitey" "Dick" Wilmet, 71, De Pere was called home on April 1, 2017, surrounded by family. Born on March 6, 1946 in Green Bay, he was the son of the late Alvin and Magdalene Wilmet.
Whitey was drafted in the Army as a medic, while serving he was stationed in Germany. After his time in the Army, he worked at Nicolet Paper Company, United Slab Jacking and the Watering Hole until he retired.
Whitey was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers and Bucks. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. His charm and wit will be missed by all.
He is survived by his four children and their spouses: Tiffany (Kelly) Corby, Tom (Ingrid) Wilmet, Tricia (Jeff) Miller, and Tim (Casey) Wilmet; 10 grandchildren: MacKenzie, Andrew, Drew, Sydney, Isaiah, Tanner, Anee, Adam, Charley, and David; one brother, Jack (Marlene) Wilmet; two sisters, Mary (Dave) Knoll, Joan Krueser; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Wilmet; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceeded in death by his parents; one brother, Bob Wilmet; two sisters, Shirley Wilmet and Cathy Baylie and three brothers-in-law: Dan Stencil, Bill Krueser and Bob Besaw.
Visitation will be held at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 4 to 6:45 PM. A funeral service will follow at 7 PM with full military honors.
