Richard "Dick" A. Pfefferman, age 82 of Howard, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family. Richard was born June 29, 1932 in Dayton, Kentucky the son of Anthony and Ester (Scheibly) Pfefferman.
Dick served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1950-53 and received an honorable discharge. He belonged to the Pipe Fitters Union in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dick married Sandra Plummer the love of his life on January 28, 1973 in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1980 Dick and family moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin. In 1983 Dick started A-1 Heating & Air Conditioning business. Then later, in 1987 he opened A-1 Elevator Sales & Service in which he semi-retired in 1994 and continued to oversee operations. A-1 Elevator is currently owned and operated by his children.
Dick's passion was not only being out on the golf course, but to spin a good story and his long winded speeches. He also enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, working in his yard, and spending time with his grandchildren. He served as QuarterMaster with the VFW Duck Creek Post 7534 and served as Exalted Ruler Green Bay Elks Club.
Dick is survived by his wife, Sandra; children, Anthony (Danielle) Pfefferman, Laura (David) Dolce, Cathy (Bob) Lahey, Richard Pfefferman Jr., Keith (Katie) Pfefferman, John Drown, Susan (Rick) Nelson, and David (Sherry) Drown; siblings, Tony (Carolee) Pfefferman, Margaret Daily, David Pfefferman, Joe (Vickie) Pfefferman; brother-in-law, Larry (Elaine) Plummer; grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth, David, Samuel, Kayden, Kelly, Robert, Brandon, Travis, Kara, Tracey and Stephanie (Peter) and Krista; great grandchild, Bobby, Jerry, Samantha, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Anthony & Ester Pfefferman and Sandra's parents James Raymond & Matilda Plummer.
Friends and relatives may call at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, (340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay) on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 4:00PM to 6:45PM. A funeral service will follow at 7:00PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 10:00AM to 11:45AM at St. John the Baptist Parish, Howard, WI (2597 Glendale Ave). A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12noon. Full military honors will follow immediately after Mass.
