Raymond F. Stefens, 63, Green Bay, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013.
He was born in Philadelphia in 1949 to Robert & Emily Stefens. In 1957 he moved to De Pere and was raised by his uncle & aunt, Richard & Elisa Baeten.
After high school, Ray enlisted in the US Army in 1968. He served with honor reaching rank of Corporal with a combat trained Military Police Unit, serving two tours overseas. In 1972 he was honorably discharged from the US Army, and began working with the USPS, retiring in 2004.
He enjoyed playing pool, bowling and was a very skilled chess player.
Ray will be greatly missed by family, friends and his cats.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer (Kevin Sieker) Stefens, Michelle Stefens; granddaughter, Evelyn; three sisters, Janice Baeten, Nancy Clabots and Patricia Baeten; three brothers, John, Ron & Rick Baeten.
He was preceded in death by his parents; aunt & uncle; and sister, Cathy Ames.
Friends may gather from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, followed by Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
