Ralph Edward Thibaudeau, 74, Green Bay, died unexpectedly Friday, June 13, 2014 at his cabin in Silver Cliff, Wisconsin. Born in Green Bay, Saturday, January 27, 1940, the son of the late Milton and Mildred (Gay) Thibaudeau. Ralph was engaged September 1959 and married his high school sweetheart and dancing partner Joan Marie Darrow on Saturday, May 21, 1960 at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Green Bay. Ralph worked at Rahr's Brewery, Mrs. Karl's Bakery, Witt Intensive Care, Girl Scouts of Northwestern Great Lakes and various handyman positions.
Ralph is survived by his wife Joan Marie Thibaudeau of Green Bay, and his three children and their spouses Patrick F. (Barbara) Thibaudeau of Maplewood, Minnesota, Debra L. Thibaudeau of Green Bay, James E. (Jessica) Thibaudeau of Sobieski; 11 grandchildren and their spouses Justin (Andrea) Benz, Stephanie (Matthew) Rytting, Jonathan Thibaudeau, Aaron Thibaudeau, Ryan Thibaudeau, Andrew Thibaudeau, Cole Thibaudeau, Morgan Thibaudeau, Nathan Thibaudeau; four great grandchildren Cameron Tovbin (step), Natalie Rytting, Adriana Benz, Sarah Rytting; his siblings and their spouses Joan (Alfred) McAllister, Gerald (Judy) Thibaudeau all of Green Bay, Donna (Dale) Stary of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mary Lou (Clyde) Hansen of Oconto; his numerous nieces and nephews and his sister-in-law Nancy Darrow of Green Bay.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents.
He was born while his family lived at 1417 Cedar Street and lived briefly at 1516 Main St and spent most of his growing up years at 1490 Hastings Street all in Green Bay. He began his married life living in an upstairs apartment on West Mason street then lived at 1142 Doty Street, 929 Pine Street, 857 Division Street, 822 School Place and has resided in the Village of Allouez since April 1974.
Ralph graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1959. He was a member of the Green Bay Aerie #401 Fraternal Order of Eagles for 15+ years and was Treasurer early during his membership. He played baseball for the Green Bay Blue Ribbons (Three-I league team) late 1950's to early 1960's. He enjoyed watching hockey and was in a bowling league. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers.
He enjoyed dancing in his earlier years, loved Lawrence Welk, big bands, Herb Albert and Tijuana Brass and Elvis Presley. He loved cooking on the grill and making popcorn nightly. His greatest achievement and joy was his family and his cabin.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
Thank you to Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue, Marinette County first responders, cabin neighbors Terry and Joan Ehrich, who were there in the first moments after discovering Ralph, Green Bay First and Second Wards of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and countless friends who offered comfort and assistance.
Visitation 9 am to 11:30 am and funeral services at Noon on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 651 Pinehurst Avenue, Green Bay, WI 54302 (East Mason Street to East Town Way to Finger Road to Pinehurst Avenue, across from Martin Elementary School).
