Quentin Hans Richard Norby, age 97, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully, Sunday, January 13, 2019. He was born November 13, 1921 in Clearbrook, MN, son of the late John H. and Amanda (Valley) Norby and was a graduate of Willmar High School, Willmar, MN.
After graduation, Quentin enlisted in the US Coast Guard and served his country proudly during WWII. He married Roxie Virginia Qvale, April 5, 1942 in Willmar, MN and they shared 72 loving years together before Roxie passed away in January of 2014. He held various positions prior to his employment as Leyse Aluminum in Kewaunee, where he worked his way up from a buffer to Quality Control Manager. He worked at Leyse Aluminum 35 years, retiring in 1984. Quentin was fortunate to enjoy 35 wonderful retired years. Quentin was an active member of the Masonic Lodge in Kewaunee/Sturgeon Bay as well as the Shriners of Brown County. He worked tirelessly, raising funds to help area children that were patients of the Shriners Hospital.
Quentin was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. His greatest joy was spending many weekends with his beloved grandchildren.
Quentin is survived and will be dearly missed by his 2 daughters, Marsha Norby and Barbara (Joseph) Mianecki; 3 grandchildren: Eric (Mandy) Nissen, Greg Nissen and Justin (Tanya) Mianicki; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren (and 1 on the way!)
He was preceded in death by his 4 sisters: Jane (Clifford) Bosman, Gibby (Richard) Hansen, Pauline (Richard) Christensen and Allegra (Donald) Jolly.
In accordance with Quentin's wishes, no services will be held.
