Peggy Jo Oschmann

July 31, 1951 — February 17, 2024

Peggy Jo Oschmann, 72, of DePere, peacefully entered eternal life on 17 February, 2024 after a nearly two year battle with cancer.

Peggy was born July 31, 1951 in Wisconsin Rapids. She was the middle daughter of the late Kenneth Percy and Shirley Mae (Cotterill) Pike. She married James P. Sprister on September 11, 1971 and together raised their son, Todd. Peggy was a devoted mother and long considered her son to be her pride and joy.

Peggy enjoyed spending time at her family’s cottage on Lake Tippecanoe and had many fond memories of her summers spent with her sisters growing up, and she shared that special place with her own family years later. In 1989, Peggy decided to pursue a childhood passion cultivated by years of skimming the latest hair fashion magazines at the local salon. As a hairdresser, she expertly blended her love of people, outgoing personality, and attention to detail into a career she enjoyed immensely. In her free time, Peggy also enjoyed reading any book she could get her hands on and traveling anywhere she could bask in the warmth of the sun or see her precious “grand-babies.”

She is survived by her son, Todd (Sarah) Sprister and two grandchildren: Joshua and Abigail. She will also be greatly missed by her younger sister, Nancy (Mac) MacDonald, nieces, nephews, cousins, and the countless individuals she considered dear friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her older sister, Ginger Lutz.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a donation be made in Peggy’s honor to the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) to help forge a future immune to cancer.
