Family man, Paul Rouse of Green Bay, passed away surrounded by loved ones on January 21, 2023 at the age of 73.
Paul was born on February 27, 1949 in Green Bay, WI to Howard and Lucy (Delaruelle) Lovelace Rouse.
In 1971, Paul met the love of his life, Karen (Schott) Rouse, at The Music Box. Their story began when they misheard each other's name in the loud club. Paul thought Karen said her name was Jan and she thought he had said Karl. The misunderstanding wasn't cleared up until the next week when they were both at The Music Box and Paul asked one of Karen's friends where Jan was. They were immediately drawn to each other and went on to marry and raise two children together.
Paul served as a United States Marine from 1969-1971. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, birdwatching, baking and cooking for his family, and doing jigsaw puzzles. He could often be found in the "puzzle room" working on large puzzles for hours.
Paul is survived by wife, Karen; children, Paula (Andy) Bronander and Tony (Kallen) Rouse; grandchildren, Cassie and Kalli Bronander, Anthony, Nikita, and August Rouse; his sisters, Elly Frawley, and Audrey Rohan (Phil); brothers, Darrell Rouse, Robert (Virginia) Rouse; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Rouse; mother, Lucy Rouse; brothers, George and Danny Rouse and Clinton Lovelace; sisters, Bernadine Hazen, Kathleen Rouse, and Doris VanderMeulen; sisters-in-law, Kay Rouse and Carol Lovelace; and brothers-in-law, Tom Frawley and Wayne VanderMeulen.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions (340 S. Monroe Ave. Green Bay, WI) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a service to follow at 7:00 pm.
