Paul Henry Rolfes, 83, Fremont, passed away with his family by his side, Sunday, May 6, 2012. He was born April 8, 1929, in Chicago to the late Henry and Leona (Bosse) Rolfes. Paul proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. On August 28, 1953 he married the love of his life, Shirley Reeves. Paul was an animal lover and enjoyed the outdoors. He had a great interest in history research and worked as a fireman on steam locomotives. Paul worked at University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh as a power plant operator for 27 years.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Shirley; 5 children: Virginia (Bill) Schmidt, Kris (Jim) Paulsen, Kurt Rolfes, Lori (Dan) Lynch, and Paula (Joe) Allen; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandsons; brother, Gerald (Jenny) VanDerLeest; sister, Carol (Tom) Graves; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by an infant son and infant daughter.

Family and friends may call Friday, May 11, 2012 at Nicolet Memorial Gardens from 11:00am until a funeral service at Noon, with burial to immediately follow.
