Paul R. Knope, age 65, of De Pere, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021, after suffering a heart attack. He was born May 21, 1956 in Green Bay, WI, son of the late Ervin and Shirley (VanderKellen) Knope and was a graduate of West De Pere High School, Class of 1974.
After graduating, Paul enrolled in NWTC where he received training to be an electrician. He began a lifelong career as an ink jet operator at Moore Response Graphics, which later became R&R Donnelly. His family remembers him as a dedicated hard worker, not only at his regular job, but at odd jobs on the side. Paul married Rhonda Anderson, May 11, 1979 and they shared 42 years of marriage.
Paul enjoyed woodworking, camping, Friday night fish fry with his father-in-law, boating and horseback riding. He volunteered many hours of his time at the Brown County Fair and Rough Riders Saddle Club. His greatest joy in life was becoming a dad and a grandpa. He never missed an opportunity to attend sporting events or activities to support his family.
Paul is survived by his wife, Rhonda; 4 children: Randall Knope, Heather Foster, Dawn (Jeff) Deneys and April (Earl) Fowles; 8 grandchildren (and one on the way!): Cory, Caroline, Kristopher, Destiny, Allison, Blake, Nathan, Emily; a brother, John (Connie) Knope and father and mother-in-law, Russell and Dona Anderson. He is further survived by his step-mother, Rose Knope, canine companion, Bear, his horse, Jewel and numerous other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a granddaughter, September Deneys and a brother, Mark Knope.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 4 to 6 PM. A funeral service will follow at 6 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to the Brown County Fair Association or to Rough Riders Saddle Club in Paul's name are appreciated.
