Paul Arthur Bilty, age 87, of Green Bay, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018. He was born March 20, 1931 in Milwaukee, WI, son of the late Irving S. and Louise (Patruzzi) Bilty.
Paul was a graduate of Whitefish Bay High School and earned his Bachelor's Degree from UW-Madison. He enlisted in the US Army in 1953 and served his country until his honorable discharge in 1955. Paul married Janet Wedgwood in June of 1956 and they shared 62 years of marriage. He was self-employed for most of his life and at various companies including FMC Corp and Cleereman Machine and Tool.
Paul joined the Beja Shrine of Green Bay in 1985 as a charter member. He was a past commander of the Vets of Valor and organized the Shrine Super Cycle for parades. He also enjoyed transporting children and their families to the Shriners Children's Hospital in Chicago. Paul was an active member of Union Congregational United Church of Christ.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Janet and his 3 children: Paul W. (Sheila) Bilty, Ann (John) Hackinson and Kay Stinson. He is further survived by 5 grandchildren: Katherine (Andrew) Bartlein, Jennifer Hackinson, Vincent Bilty, Maxwell Hackinson and Shelby Stinson.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Huebsch in 2016.
Visitation will be held at Union Congregational United Church of Christ (716 S. Madison St., Green Bay), Monday, January 7, 2019 from 1 to 2:45 PM. A Masonic service will conclude the visitation at the church. A funeral service will follow at 3 PM. Entombment will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shriners Children's Hospitals or Union Congregational Church in Paul's name are appreciated.
