Sadly, the Green Bay community lost a pillar on Thursday, December 16, 2021, when Pastor LC Green, age 70 years old, passed away at Aurora BayCare Hospital surrounded by family. He was born in West, MS, on February 27, 1951, to the late Alfred Green III and Gracie Redmon Green.
Pastor Green served as Pastor of Divine Temple Church of God in Christ in Green Bay for 23 years. He served his community since 1998, working with city officials, courts, and schools. He was an advocate for the youth in the community and spoke the word. He attended Rust College in Holly Spring, MS, and Moody Bible College, where he received his Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies. He forever encouraged the youth he encountered to continue their education.
In September of 1974, He was united in marriage to Alice Davis, and He loved spending time with his wife and children he dearly loved his family and church family. Pastor Green enjoyed his life to the fullest and radiated the Love of Christ to all he met. When not with his family, he enjoyed singing, cruising around the city in his favorite ride, and communicating on his CB radio. He will be greatly missed.
Pastor Green is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Alice J. Davis-Green; three sons: Ronnell (Kristie) Deering, Alfred (Sacha) Green and Jay Garcia Green; three daughters: Leslie Ousley (Shannon Ingram), Grace Green and Patience Garcia Green; one sister, Faye Green of West, MS.; 16 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Pastor Green was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Gracie (Redmon) Green III; a son, Darnell Deering; a brother, JW Redmon; a sister, Carey Seamster.
Public visitation will be held at Divine Temple Church of God in Christ, 425 Cherry St., Green Bay, WI, on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 pm. The family requests that face-covering (mask) be worn by those attending visitation and service.
Burial will be at Long Branch Cemetery in West, MS.
