Pamela Jean Hansen (Reetz), 71, left this life surrounded by loved ones and started her new journey on July 30, 2023. We wish we could say it was a hard fought ending, but in all fairness, she did her best against Alzheimer's/dementia. Pam's mind was gone long before her body and what we loved most about her was her mind. It made her what she was to each of us, whether that be Wife, Mother, Grammy, Sister, Auntie, or Friend. We rest easy knowing that she is whole again with her loved ones that have gone before her. She is probably asking the rules of Shanghai rummy, dancing to country music, walking the beaches collecting shells and rocks, or telling really bad jokes. What we hope most for her is that she is giving one of her world famous hugs. Pam always made those around her feel like family.
Pam is survived by her husband of 44 years, Russell Hansen; five children: Heidi (Beau) Blade, Christopher (Mindy) Hansen, Heather (David) Hodge, Curt (Nicole) Hansen, and Chad (Haley) Hansen; and the real lovelies of her life, her 16 grandchildren: Conner, Paige, Emma, Ellie, Aidan, Liam, Nadia, Reece, Ava, Finley, Alicia, David, Gwyneviere, Barrett, Maxwell, and Athena. There was never any doubt how much she loved her family but we all knew the grand-babies were her favorite. Until we meet again Grammy, we love you more. She is further survived by eight sibling: Linda (Ed) Becker, Dan (Jean) Reetz, Mary (Vern) Propson, Mike Reetz, Joel (Sherry) Reetz, Charlie (Louise) Reetz, Jim (Jenny) Reetz, and Rod (Janet) Reetz; and numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Pam is preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Leona "Sue" (Popple) Reetz, her brother, Harry Reetz, nieces: Tara and Amanda, and nephew, Patrick.
Friends and family may visit Saturday, August 5, 2023 at St. Claire's Catholic Church, 2218 Day Street, Greenleaf; from 9:00 am until 11:00am with a Mass to follow at 11:00 am. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary's Parish Cemetery.
