Norbert E. Mullen, age 74, of Gillett, went to his heavenly home on Oct. 4, 2022. He was born June 21, 1948, son of the late Emmet and Lucille Mullen.
Norbert grew up on the family farm in Oneida. He enjoyed farming and teaching his children the value of good hard work, dedication, kindness and going to church every Sunday. While farming he also worked full time at Bay West Paper Mill.
He loved being a grandpa and was so proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, who brought smiles to his face, while he donned his "My favorite people call me Dad" t-shirt. He loved sharing a meal with family, and after eating, would pat his belly, saying "Ah, that was so good!" He enjoyed going out for breakfast with his friends, going to auctions, and visiting at the local pub with his soda, water, or even an occasional beer in hand. He always, always brought treats wherever he went. He just loved sharing conversation and taking the time to talk or listen to anyone who had a listening ear or story to tell. He has a wonderful sense of humor. He saw the good in every single person that he met, no matter how down and out they were, and would even open his house, frequently setting up an extra bed to help a friend in need. He never, ever turned anyone away or said a bad word, and would do whatever he could to help others.
Norb leaves to cherish in his loving memory, his children: Victoria (Royal James) Britton, Cecil; Louann (John) Kraft, Bellevue; Joseph (fiance Jill) Mullen, Crivitz; and Pamela Williams, Oconto Falls. He will be forever remembered by his grandchildren who he adored: Kalea, Ashley, Joshua (fiance Kyle), Cody, Sarah, Ben, Mitchell and Maycie; and his great-granddaughter, Wilhelmina. He is further survived by his siblings: Alice Goffard, Townsend; Helen (Ralph) Goffard, Appleton; Robert (Patricia) Mullen, Menasha; Alvin (Bonnie) Mullen, Oneida; Marlene Raasch, Green Bay; Mary LeMere (Lester Hein) Crivitz; Jean (Bruce) Beno, Ashwaubenon; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Emmet and Lucille Mullen, his brother, John, his brothers and sisters-in-law Lawrance Goffard, Thomas Raasch, Jerome Mullen, Ronald LeMere, Janice Mullen, and Linda Mullen.
Memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 8 am - 11 am , with a memorial service at 11 am at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Parish (407 S. Warrington Ave. Cecil, WI).
