Norbert Michael Christoph, age 84, passed away peacefully at home on May 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Norbert was born on April 18th, 1940, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Antone and Mary (Koenig) Christoph. Norbert graduated from Luxemburg-Casco in 1958 as a three-year letterman. On August 21st, 1965, he married his beloved wife Shirley (Derepkowski) Christoph. Norbert served in the Pershing Missile Unit of the U.S. Army for two years. He worked at American Motors in Kenosha, Pauly Cheese, for 23 years, then Retired from St. Vincent’s Hospital.
Norbert was a passionate Packers and Chicago Cubs fan. In 2008, at a Chicago Cubs game, Father Dean Dombroski and Norbert saw a no-hitter. He was on different bowling teams, including the High Scratch Series men's division in the 1983 Press Gazette. He and his wife enjoyed spending winters in Arizona with their son, Don, and summers on Lake Noquebay at their cottage fishing; he also enjoyed their dog, Buddy. Norbert loved his grandchildren, Katlynn Albert and Jacob Mleziva.
He is survived by four loving children: Don Christoph of Arizona, Tom Christoph of Green Bay, Lisa (Jeff) Mleziva of Luxemburg, Becky Christoph (partner, Sandy) of Green Bay; sister, Mary Ann (Felix) Wery; sister-in-law, Anita Christoph; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Christoph; his brother-in-law, Ron Derepkowski; his sister-in-law, Barb Derepkowski; and two nephews: Danny Wery and Fred Wery.
Norbert will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandpa who loved spending time with his family.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Receptions, Funerals, 340 S. Monroe Ave, Green Bay. A short prayer service for Norbert will begin at 6:45 p.m. Private interment will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery (Humboldt/St. Hubert Cemetery).
The family would like to thank Cardiology Dr.Matthias A Fuchs, OSMS Dr.Thomas A. Sullivan, Dr. Kathleen McDougal, Aurora Hospital, Bellevue Fire Department, Heartland Hospice, Our Neighbors, and granddaughter, Katlynn (Christoph) Albert, who was Norbert's caregiver.
