Nancy Ann Junion

January 20, 1934 — April 6, 2022

Nancy Junion, 88, passed away on April 6, 2022 of natural causes. The daughter of the late Dr. Melville and Gertrude (Watson) Junion she was born on January 20, 1934 in Green Bay. A graduate of St. Patrick Grade School, St. Joseph Academy High School and the College of St. Teresa, Winona, MN. In 1957 she attended the Catholic University in Washington, DC for graduate school of Fine Arts in Speech & Drama. She had leading roles at CU and pursued a career in New York Off-Broadway Theater productions & Summer Stock Theater in Kennebunkport, MA. Returning to Green Bay she enjoyed being part of St. Norbert College Music Theater from 1969 to 1990 with the title roles in "Mame", "Funny Girl", "Hello Dolly!" and supporting roles in "Annie" and "Nunsense". She also performed in local fundraising events featuring musical revues and in a TV production for the dedication of the new Brown County Central Library.

Nancy served as a social caseworker for several agencies in the Green Bay Area. She enjoyed all the activities of her Hobby Club as well as the regular reunions of her high school classmates. Her retirement activities included working part-time in customer service at Washington Commons, volunteer tutor for the Literacy Council of Brown County, the Brown County Library recording "Talking Books" and customer service at the downtown YMCA. In 2007 she received the YMCA Outstanding Volunteer Award for her years of service.

She is survived by her three sisters; Joyce (Jerome) Barina, Racine, Carol (Roach) Jones, Green Bay, Lynne Frits (Marv Hellenbrand), Middleton; six nieces and nephews: Beth (Jeff) Schulz, William (Linda) Roach, Michael (Julie) Roach, Steve (Ann) Roach, Sandra Morelli, Matthew (Jessica) Mommaerts, and numerous great- nieces and nephews.

Private family services will take place on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Newcomer Chapel. Burial in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Rebekah Haven and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care of Nancy.
