Nancy (Lubenske) Dury, 53, Green Bay, passed away surrounded by family at St. Vincent's Hospital on 1/12/22 after an illness.
Nancy was born 12/4/1968 to John (Jack) and the late Mary Lou (Henningsen) Lubenske. Growing up with her brother and three sisters she was always the life of the party. She always reminisced about times spent with her friends Dawn, Michele, and Renee as well as her cousin Shelly. She went on to graduate from Preble High School in 1987.
She wed her husband of nearly 23 years, Mark Dury Sr on 4/16/1999 in Green Isle park. Mark accepted her 2 children, Matt and Heather from previous relationships, as his own. Nancy also accepted his 2 children, Brianna and Mark Jr. from previous relationships as her own as well. They enjoyed many things together including seeing the country during family vacations. Due to Mark being a long haul truck driver, they almost never got lost. In recent years, they took a trip to the east coast to pick up the new prized possession, a nearly all original 1985 Chevy Monte Carlo SS, Mark's dream car. As a family, many car shows were visited and as long as Nancy was able, she would attend. They celebrated many car show wins together and amassed many trophies.
Nancy started her working career at American Medical Security in the coding department. She later went on to work for a local fishing company at one of their retail outlets. She finished her working days with Home Instead Senior Care as a personal care giver.
Nancy loved taking care of her clients. As a personal care giver, Nancy was there to ensure her clients general custodial needs were met as well as a general reminder for them to take their medication. She was more than that though. In times of a client's need, she would also provide an ear or general comfort and companionship. She enjoyed that job the most and worked until her knees wouldn't allow her to anymore.
Nancy is survived by her husband of nearly 22 years, Mark Dury Sr. Her children Matt Atkinson and Heather Atkinson. Her father, John (Jack) Lubenske, brother Ron (Nancy) Lubenske and sisters Margie (Jim) Wergin, Barb (Howie) Fuller and Lisa Geiger. She is further survived by aunts Darlene (Bob) Clark and Joyce (Peck) Rottier, sister-in-law Sherry, brothers-in-law Mike (Dee), Steven, Eddie (Danielle), Scott, and David Dury as well as many friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Mary Lou, in-laws Ed and Marge Dury, her sister-in-law, Diane, and her grandparents.
Visitation for Nancy will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Newcomer Green Bay Chapel from 4 pm to 7 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30. Nancy will be laid to rest at Ft. Howard Memorial Park.
