I, after decades of treating and living with Glucagonoma Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Cancer, have passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023.
Upon my death, my dad greeted me with an old fashioned along with many of his jokes that he told. After we catch up, he then shows me where the party is: my grandparents and several aunts and uncles are all together laughing and just having a great time - and I jumped right in!
I was born on January 29, 1958, to Elmer and Verna Christoff at St. Mary's hospital in Green Bay. I grew up on a farm, and this was priceless to me - through dad's modeling of hard work, I learned strong work ethic and morals. I also have a deep love of animals - and the many cats and dogs that I have had over the years will also be at the party to greet me as well!
I moved to Texas in 1984 and held numerous job positions. I ended up at my favorite job working as a massage therapist in a physical therapy clinic which was the greatest satisfaction of my life! I had a goal in taking care of others and I was skilled at making them feel relaxed and relieving their pain. I provided compassionate care and created a comfortable environment with my sense of humor adding relief to someone's stressful day.
In 2010 I married Art Hass. I then was diagnosed with cancer and Art divorced me in 2016.
I will be missed by my cat Taz and the numerous front and back yard critters that I happily fed over the past years.
I am grateful for the compassionate care that was extended to me by the doctors in the ThedaCare and Affinity systems. Kristen at Neuroscience group has been amazing to have as a PA. I thank her greatly for her genuine care she has provided for me for so many years. I express my sincere gratitude to all the caregivers from Home Instead. I would also like to thank Deacon Rick for his spiritual devotion since 2015.
I am survived by the following family members: Mother Verna Christoff, brother Tom Christoff (Judy), sister Kathy Dejardin, brother Jim Christoff (Nancy), sister Diane Beecroft (Bruce) along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
I have endless appreciation for all the years of therapy provided by my cancer counselor Sara Devine with Expressive Therapies, that has helped me through my cancer journey. Without her guidance it would have been challenging!
