Myron J. "Mike" Crooks, 80, Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Green Bay on January 23, 1932 to the late Frank & Sophia Crooks.
Mike served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955.
He worked as a bridge tender for the city of Green Bay for over 20 years before retiring.
Mike was a huge Green Bay Packers fan, enjoyed watching hockey, and was known for being an excellent baseball pitcher. He loved spending time with his family.
Mike married Shirley Williquette on July 31, 1961 she preceded him in death on March 28, 1977.
Survivors include six children, Sherri (Gerald) Pargo, Steve Crooks, Dan (Wendy) Crooks, Cindy (Joe) Crooks, Joe (Grace) Crooks, and Frank Crooks; twenty four grandchildren; forty one great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; sister, Malina Vandeuren; former wife, Jackie Crooks and her son, Hank (Lori) Crooks. Mike and Jackie had three children together, Steve, Sherri and the late Mike Crooks.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Crooks; grandson, Chad Crooks; and two brothers, Don & Tom Crooks.
Family and friends may call Friday, November 30, 2012, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm with a parish prayer service at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 211 North Maple Ave., Green Bay, from 9:30am until 10:15am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church on December 1, 2012 at 10:30am with Rev. Ryan Krueger officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
