Miron B. Friedman

March 25, 1947 — November 30, 2020

Miron B. Friedman, age 73, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully, Monday, November 30, 2020. Mike, as his friends knew him, was born March 25, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was the only child of the late Ida and Simon Friedman.

Mike was a passionate radio man, who had a smooth baritone voice that was created for singing and broadcasting. After attending California State University, Northridge, he could be heard during the late 1960s through the mid 1980s on Califronia's KPLM FM, KFI 640 AM, KFWB 940 AM and KFROG 94.1 FM. He retired and moved from Southern California to Green Bay, Wisconsin, in 1994, where he met and married Mary Crone.

Mike was always proud of his Jewish heritage, and as a skilled kibitzer, could always be counted on by friends and family for colorful commentaries and an often hilarious quip. He had a tummy-slapping, roaring laugh that was both contagious and undeniably Mike.

Never one to skip a meal or the frequent nosh, he was a man of stacked pastrami sandwiches, Kosher pickled tomatoes, frozen burritos, gas station hot dogs, BOGO Western Bacon Cheeseburgers, and bottomless buffet Jell-O (insert sound of roaring sneezes).

Mike is survived by his former spouses, Mary Crone and Denean Kaplan. He is also survived by their three children: Leesha Rieder of De Pere, Wisconsin; Shawn Friedman of Florence, Oregon; and Jonathan Friedman of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Matt, Toni, Madeline, Michaela, Hannah, Avery, Sullivan, Matthew and Micah; and four great-grandchildren: Jude, Leon, Allona and Finn.

Okay then, Buddy...we miss you already, sweetie.
