Milton "Mick" DeVillers, age 96, of Green Bay, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2022. He was born June 22, 1925 to William and Lena DeVillers. Mick married Helen Ann Matzke in Green Bay, November 23, 1946.
Mick was a loving husband and father. His convictions were strong and he lived up to them. Hard work was never a stranger to him and his love of the outdoors was reflected in the care of his property.
A World War II veteran, he joined the Marines in 1942 and served in the Mariana and Marshall Islands.
Mick was employed for 13 years by the Green Bay Board of Education in the maintenance department. In 1968, he joined the Carpenters Local 1146 as a journeyman carpenter and millwright until his retirement in 1988. While working for the Board of Education, he served as a union officer for the Teamsters Union 75 and while working for the Carpenters Local 1146, he was a union officer and served for many years as a delegate to the Greater Green Bay Labor Council, Building Trades and the district Council of Carpenters.
Milton is survived by his daughter, Joan DeKeyser; his son, John (Lisa) De Villers; 3 grandsons: Dan, Rick (Tracy) and Matt (Tammy) Piehl; a granddaughter, Maia De Villers and a great-granddaughter, Abbie Piehl. He is further survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Joanne Witham and Lyn Matzke.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his parents; sister, Evelyn (Joe) Schuette; brothers: Earl (Fran), Donald and Clayton DeVillers and brothers and sisters-in-law: Bernard (Lois) Matzke, Rosemary (Mick) Schultz, Joe Matzke, Margie (Tom) Wolf and Chuck Witham.
In accordance with Mick's wishes, private services will be held by his family at a later date.
Mick's family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Compassus Hospice and Moraine Ridge, as well as caregiver, Maria Peterson of Visiting Angels, for their care and compassion.
