Mike Ritter

February 7, 1960 — April 20, 2022

Michael "Mike" Louis Ritter age 62 of Sturgeon Bay, WI and Nahma, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, peacefully at home. He was born February 7, 1960, in Manistique, MI, son of the late Robert "Boop" and Mary Lou (Van Damme) Ritter. He attended Big Bay De Noc School in Cooks, MI.

After graduation, Mike moved to Sturgeon Bay, WI where he found work at Emerson Electric in Sturgeon Bay, where he worked for over 20 years. While there he made a lot of amazing lifelong friendships. While at Emerson Electric Mike took computer classes to further his education. After Emerson Electric closed its doors, he then moved on to make more amazing friends when he started work at Bay Ship Building in Sturgeon Bay. He worked on and off there for another 10 years. During the time he was working at Emerson, he met the love of his life, Susan Bauer. They were married on November 1st, 1980, a warm fall day. They shared 41 years of marriage and Mike loved Sue's three children (Annette Linzmeyer 51, Allan Conard 50, Angela Maurer 47) as if they were his own.

Mike was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and he never missed watching a game; it was always interesting if you had the pleasure to enjoy a game with him. He was an outstanding golfer and always enjoyed a round of golf, even playing in a few golf leagues. Even though Mike was not a tall man he was an amazing basketball player. He played in high school and in several bar leagues. Mike was an all-around athlete and participated in several different leagues: bowling, softball, and flag football. No matter the sport he excelled. Best of all, he was the best friend anyone could ask for and had the biggest heart of anyone we knew. He was always there if anyone needed anything including the shirt off his back. Unless you needed a winter hat, Mike always said "MeNoHadNoHat" and everyone around would have a great laugh.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Susan Ann (Bauer) Ritter and their 3 children: Annette (Don Hrabik) Linzmeyer, Allan Conard, and Angela (Mark) Maurer. Mike also leaves his beloved sisters: Patricia (William) Inman, Mary Ritter, Cathy (Louis) Adelman, and Cora (Michael) Johnson, along with 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Robert "Boop" and Mary Lou Ritter and his older brother Robert "Bobbie" (Marilyn) Ritter.
