Michael J. Slusarek Jr., age 98, of Suamico, went to join his wife in Heaven, Tuesday, November 29, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born September 13, 1924, to the late Michael J. Slusarek Sr. and Julia (Grusczynski) Slusarek.
Mike worked on the family farm for 26 years. Later, he worked as a crane operator for Northwest Engineering, Green Bay, until he retired. Mike married Elizabeth "Betty" Lund, October 29, 1949 at St. Benedict Parish, Suamico. They shared 63 years of marriage before Betty preceded him in death in 2012.
Mike was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing with his wife, Betty.
Michael is survived by his 3 children: Michael (Lucy) Slusarek III, Sharon Kornowske and Vernon (Michelle) Slusarek; 9 grandchildren: Apryl (Matthias) Andrews, Aaron (Melissa) Slusarek, Abbie (Sam Jauquet) Slusarek, Katy (Kris Vanden Putten) Kornowske, Misty (Nate) McInnes, Tammy (Wesley) Jobelius, Alex (Melanie) Slusarek, Stacie (Bryan) Delwiche and Shelly (Karan) Lohia and 17 great-grandchildren (and one on the way!). He is further survived by Cheri Huss Slusarek (Alex, Stacie and Shelly's mom), numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty, a son-in-law, Bud Kornowske, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be held at St. Benedict Catholic Parish (3370 Deerfield Ln., Suamico), Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 10 AM to 12 NOON. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12 NOON. Burial will be in St. Benedict Cemetery.
