Michael (Mike) D. Frankowski, Sr., (80) passed away in the early hours of Christmas Eve, December 24, 2020 surrounded by his family. Mike was born to Joseph P. and Emily (Latus) Frankowski December 11, 1940. He attended Custard High in Menominee Falls, WI and worked as a Millwright. Mike met the love of his life Virginia (Ginny) Orlik and they married on December 2, 1961 recently celebrating 59 years of marriage. They raised their three children, Michael Jr., Patty and Holly in Milwaukee and Green Bay, WI when Mike transferred as a salesman for American Greetings. Mike and Ginny moved to their dream home in the Northwoods of Three Lakes, WI and recently returned to Green Bay to be close to family.
Mike had a career as a Millwright, Salesman and up to November of 2020 as a grocery clerk for Camps Sentry Foods in St. Germain, WI. He enjoyed working and visiting with anyone he could engage in a conversation. He was an avid fisherman and was always seeking the elusive Muskie, once caught and released. He offered 25 cents for the biggest fish caught, usually catching the smallest fish and paying out. He enjoyed nature and being outdoors. He also enjoyed drawing, painting, maintaining his tiny country home, bowling, camping but mostly spending time with his wife Ginny and canine companion Teddy.
Mike is survived by his wife, Ginny; son Michael D. (Alberta) Frankowski Jr.; his daughter Patty A. (John P.) Gille; son in law, Jeffrey Ebben; grandson Zachery J. (Ellie) Ebben; brothers: James A. (Ingrid) Frankowski and Eugene (Amy) Frankowski; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Holly L. (Frankowski) Ebben; brothers: John, Joseph, Thomas and sister, Mary (Frankowski) Burback and brother in law, Herman (Butch) Burback.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2020 at Newcomer Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave.) from 11 am to 1 pm. A service will follow at 1 pm. To leave an online condolence please visit www.newcomergreenbay.com.
The family would like to thank County Rescue, the nurses, doctors and case workers of the third floor ICU unit and fourth floor of Aurora Hospital, Unity Hospice of De Pere and Newcomer Funeral Home for all the kind and compassionate care given and shown to Mike and the family.
Dad, we love and will miss you but now it's time to go fishing, so go get that Muskie!!
