Merci Marie Henselin

Merci’s Story

Merci Marie was born to Camryn Crosley on August 8, 2021. Her birthmother courageously chose adoption, and Merci went home from the hospital to her adoptive family, Hannah and Karl, Isaiah, Joel, Lena and Zachary. She was a beautiful and healthy baby girl. Merci was baptized at St. Mark Lutheran as an infant.

Merci dearly loved to spend time with her siblings. She loved to watch them and toddle after them as soon as she was able. They in turn were incredibly interested in her development and each milestone was met with praise and excitement by all. Merci loved animals and was a natural at putting out her hand for dogs or cats to lick. She loved her stuffed animals and her imagination was off the charts. Often her first words in the morning to her family were “Meow!” or “Arf arf!” She loved books, nursery rhymes, painting, singing, swimming, staying up late to watch Cocomelon.

Merci’s accomplishments include potty training and giving up her pacifier. She was on her way to dressing herself and loved to pick out her own clothes. She was forming full sentences that she articulated very carefully. “I want to run.” “Can I have a strawberry popsicle?” “I want to watch Cocomelon!” “I go kick, kick, kick!”

Merci’s smile, giggle and independent nature were a gift to everyone she met. Her short life on earth was a blessing to so many. We thank God for the days He allowed her to brighten our lives here on earth, and we rejoice today that she is safe at home with Jesus and some of her beloved family members, especially her siblings Lena and Joel. We mourn because we miss her horribly, and we look forward even more eagerly to our own Heaven Day.

This verse has hung in Merci’s room and we know that it continues to be true.
