Maxine Redemann

Our ray of sunshine, Maxine Rachel Redemann, age 95, of Fremont, died peacefully in her sleep, Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Crossroads Care Center, Weyauwega. She was born, November 14, 1920 in Stevens Point, daughter of the late Samuel and Emma (Kall) Swift. She graduated from PJ Jacobs High School, Stevens Point, in 1939. On September 2, 1942, Maxine was united in marriage to Evan "Bud" Redemann. They settled in Fremont and raised their family there. He preceded her in death in 1996.

Maxine was an Associate of the School Sisters of Notre Dame and was also a member of the Prayer Power for Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Maxine worked as a nurse's assistant at St. Joseph Residence in New London, wrote Fremont News Notes for the Weyauwega Chronicle and also found time to sell Avon Products. She volunteered for the Election Board and at the Blood Bank and was a den mother for the Cub Scouts. She was also part of the Golfing Gourmets and a Savings Fund Club. She had regular coffee on Fridays with the "backyard bunch": Margaret "Muggs" Kramer, Dolores Schafer, Pearl Lewin, Marge Ludtke and Nolda Rasmussen. She went swimming and did aquacise class with the "Doll-Finns" for over 20 years. She enjoyed reading, writing, walking, dancing, hiking, golfing and biking. She will be remembered for her strong faith, her smiling face, her witty sense of humor and her unconditional love.

Maxine is survived by her 2 sons, Michael (Joyce) Redemann, Winter and James (the late Christine) Redemann, Fremont; daughter-in-law, Sharon (Eugene "Pat") Redemann, Madison; 10 grandchildren: Rory (Stacey), Ryan (Sarah), Jill (Mike), Susan (Mike), Melanie (Dan), Jocelyn (Jon), Amber (Graham), J.J. (Mandy), Shelly (Matt) and Toni (Jeremy); 24 great-grandchildren: Brenna, Brooke, Ellie, Sam, Zach, Kylie, Megan, Conner, Lincoln, Kayla, Levi, Cashton, Miriam, Naomi, Titus, Claire, Gwen, Keagan, Riley, Madison, Jordynn, Caydence, Jaxsen and a baby boy on the way and her best friends Joyce Lankford and Mary Bandow.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Maxine was preceded in death by her 2 sons, Eugene "Pat" Redemann and Christopher "Tuffy" Redemann; daughter-in-law, Christine Redemann and her brother, Joe Swift.

Friends and relatives may call at SS PETER AND PAUL PARISH, (608 E. Main St., Weyauwega, WI) on Friday, April 15, 2016 from 10 AM to 1:45 PM. A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 PM with Fr. Xavier officiating. A eulogy will be said by Maxine's mentor and dear friend, Sister Marie Rose VanDeurzen, SSND. Interment will be in Fremont Lakeside Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to a special fund to support the further education of Maxine's great-grandchildren are appreciated.
