Mary T. Rowe

July 10, 1935 — September 13, 2024

Maryann Theresa Rowe, age 89, of Green Bay, passed away on September 13, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 10, 1935 to James and Mathilda Smith in De Pere, WI. Mary grew up on the family farm in Ashwaubenon, and was one of the youngest of many siblings. She proudly was the first in her family to graduate from High School, and continued onto community college for her technical degree.

Shortly after graduating, Mary began work at the Austin Straubel Airport in Green Bay, as a waitress where she met her future husband Gordon "Cork" Rowe. On July 10th, 1954, after three short months of dating, the couple was united in marriage. They lived together in Green Bay, before moving to their cabin in Florence, WI, in 1979. The couple ran the successful Lake View Bar and Grill, where Mary was known for her excellent fish fries. After selling the bar, they continued their journey by purchasing the Suds and Duds Laundromat. They then spent several years traveling the United States, whether it was with the Fifth Wheel or the Harley, always with Nikki strapped to the back. Following the passing of her husband, Mary moved in with her daughter, Robin, where she enjoyed getting her coffee and cigarette, while watching the birds in the garden. She was an avid reader, and loved spending time with the great-grandkids where she earned the nickname "GG".

Mary is survived by her loving children; Debra Moore, Robin Miller, Jennifer Hardin, Thomas Rowe, Mary Beth Le Febvere, and Jessica Rowe, 12 grandchildren; Ivy, Kayce, Rey Rey, Zeta, Eric, Miyah, Audrey, Amy, Rachel, James, Eugene, and Nicole, and a boat load of great-grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her siblings, and her sons-in-law.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at West Side Moravian Church, (1707 S. Oneida St., Green Bay, 54304). With Memorial Service to follow at 12:00 pm, with Pastor Marian Boyle Rohloff officiating.

The family would like to thank the staff at Unity Hospice for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are to be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Mary's honor.
