Mary Ann (Groeschel) Olson

Mary Ann (Groeschel) Olson, age 67, of Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 6, 1949 in Stockbridge, WI, daughter of Herbert and June (Ingalls) Groeschel and had been a resident of Green Bay since 1970.

Mary Ann married Arthur Olson in 1970 and they shared 21 years together before his death in 1991. Mary Ann was a well known CB'er in the 70's and 90's, operating under the handle "Meow." She loved to knit. Mary made friends from far and wide on the Chat Line (special friend, Greg from CA.) Mary Ann was a faithful member of Highland Crest Baptist Church. Despite many hardships, Mary Ann always maintained a positive attitude and greeted everyone with laughter and a big smile.

Mary Ann is survived by her parents, Herbert and June Groeschel, Stockbridge; 5 siblings: Rose Mary Heller, Chilton, Darlene (Harold) Brandt, Sheboygan Falls, Linda (Henry) Lodel, Chilton, Shirley (Timothy) Kopiske, Appleton and James (Kathy) Groeschel, Stockbridge. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; a son, Thomas; many aunts and uncles; a great-niece and several cousins.

Visitation will be held at HIGHLAND CREST BAPTIST CHURCH (1830 S. Military Ave., Green Bay), Monday, May 22, 2017 from 1 to 3 PM. A funeral service will follow at 3 PM with Pastor Jim Downs officiating. Interment will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park.
