Mary Jane Kapla

June 7, 1950 — January 16, 2022

Mary Jane "MJ" Kapla, age 71, of Howard, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born June 7, 1950 in Green Bay, daughter of the late Ambrose and Frances (Casper) Williquette and was a graduate of Bay Port High School, Class of 1968.

MJ married Tony Kapla, June 7, 1996 in Las Vegas, NV and they shared 27 wonderful and adventurous years together before Tony preceded her in death, March 2, 2021. She worked for the Green Bay Packers and Vandervest Harley Davidson, which allowed her to be involved in two of her greatest passions-the Packers and riding motorcycles.

MJ and Tony were avid Harley Davidson motorcycle activists, traveling extensively across the United States together, attending many Harley rallies and National motorcycle races. They both agreed that it was all about their Journey and not the Destination. She was also a talented gardener, especially her prized Hostas, and was active in gardening clubs through the Green Bay Botanical Gardens and Hosta specific groups. Photography was amongst MJ's many gifts and she shared her talents with organizations, including her Harley groups and gardening clubs. MJ and Tony loved to cheer on the Packers, traveling to many of the away games. Her grandbabies and her furbabies were her pride and joy.

MJ is survived by her children, Kelley (Patrick) Fritsch and Korey Kapla; 2 grandchildren, Kayla and Haley Fritsch; 2 canine companions, Sunny and O'Malley and 3 brothers: Jerry (Mary), Ron (Nora) and Carl (Veronica) Williquette. She is further survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Marilyn and Tina Williquette, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and many, many Harley friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Tony, MJ is preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ken and Dave Williquette and a sister, Jean Marcott.

We are thankful and feel so blessed for the time we had with her in our lives and spent many memorable moments. She had a kind heart and feisty spirit that will be remembered by all. Whenever her family hears the song, "I Did it My Way," it will bring a smile to their faces because she TRULY DID!

It is with sincere gratitude to all people who helped MJ on her journey to be reunited with Tony. Special thanks to the staff in the ICU at St. Vincent Hospital who went above and beyond to care for her and her family with compassion and dignity. We thank you.

In honor of MJ's wishes, due to COVID, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Jerry Parins "Cruise for Cancer" https://www.cruiseforcancer.org/.
