Mary Jo Hodkiewicz

May 8, 1961 — March 29, 2021

Mary Jo Hodkiewicz lost her courageous battle with cancer on March 29, 2021. She was 59 years old.

Mary Jo was a life-long resident of the Green Bay area. She attended grade school in Ashwaubenon, graduated from West DePere High School and earned Associate Degrees in Secretarial Science and Mechanical Design from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.

She was employed as a Packaging Estimator at Belmark, Inc. in DePere, where she loved her job and co-workers, and never missed a day of work. Mary Jo previously worked at the Embassy Suites in downtown Green Bay for over 25 years, and was one of the original employees.

Mary Jo enjoyed spending time with her parents, brothers and sisters, and their families at their cottages up North and in Door County. She organized the family ski weekends with her nieces and nephews every spring, and the Hodkiewicz family Easter weekend in Door County. Mary Jo was also the family aficionado when it came to food and wine. She had a passion for cooking and the creativity to orchestrate the most incredible meals.

Mary Jo loved music and played the clarinet in various concert bands in her youth, and truly appreciated attending performing arts in Northeastern Wisconsin. During high school she participated in track and field, and later played softball for TGW Silkscreen and golfed on most of the local courses. She loved to read, camp, canoe, and was proud of her beautiful rose garden. She traveled all over the United States and Canada with her sisters and friends.

She is survived by her parents, Leonard and Evelyn Hodkiewicz, of Ashwaubenon, sisters, Judy Hodkiewicz, Roberta (Todd) Robbins, Kathy Hodkiewicz. Brothers Thom (Mary) Hodkiewicz, Tim Hodkiewicz, Dennis (Amy) Hodkiewicz, Dominic (Nicole) Hodkiewicz, and brother-in-law Dean Schmidt. She is also survived by her 11 Nieces and nephews; Dalton, Abbie, Lucy, Spencer, Alec, Madeline, Henry, Sean, Eric, Emily, and Brayden. She is preceded in death by her sister Brenda Schmidt.

The family would like to thank the staff of Bellin Oncology, for their expertise, kindness and support.

A private memorial will be held for the immediate family.
