Mary E. Albers, 90, died peacefully Friday morning, February 8, 2013.
She was born in Green Bay on September 16, 1922, to the late Henry and Mary (Johnson) Gomach.
On January 25, 1947, she married Eugene J. Albers at the Cathedral in Green Bay.
Mary enjoyed golfing, bowling and raising her six children. Mary and Gene spent many happy summers at their trailer on the Cloverleaf Lakes. After enjoying the holidays with family, they would winter in Florida or the Southwestern States. They discovered Las Vegas on one of their winter trips and lived there for 14 years before moving back to Green Bay.
She is survived by two daughters: Carole Bailey, Milwaukee, and Beth (Dave) McIntyre, Tucson, Arizona; four sons: Mike Albers (Paula Spurlock), Waco, Texas, Tom (Debbie) Albers, Dick (Terry) Albers, and Steve (Laurie) Albers, all of Green Bay; nine grandchildren: Justin (Karen) Bailey, Brian (Chery) Albers, Maggie (Nick) Hemauer, Dan Albers, Tara (Cha) Torres & Amy Albers, Leon Albers, Michael and Eugene McIntyre; Deena Perleberg; six great grandchildren: Angelica and Yesica Larsen, Julia and Caleb Hemauer, and Owen and Parker Bailey; Alex Perleberg; four sisters-in-law: Bernice Gomach, Green Bay, Helen Van Vonderen, De Pere, Marie Denissen, Green Bay, Blanche (Jerry) Eckers, Clintonville, and Grace Albers, De Pere.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, her parents, two brothers: Henry Gomach & Robert Gomach; two sisters: Alice Heesaker & Gertrude Greenwood; many in-laws and almost everyone else she knew.
Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Avenue, Green Bay on Wednesday, February 13, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m with the funeral service following.
