Mary Byrne

February 23, 1925 — April 8, 2016

Terry Byrne went home to the Lord on Friday, April 8th, surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of the late Harry & Julia Conley was born in Woodstock, IL on February 23rd, 1925. Terry was a graduate of Nicolet High School, De Pere, WI and St. Mary's College, South Bend, IN.

On May 20th 1950 she was united in marriage to Hugh R. Byrne (Bud). Terry and Bud resided in Antigo, WI and in 1964 the family moved to De Pere, WI. Terry was a dedicated homemaker, devoted to raising her 10 children. She worked for many years in the office at St. Norbert Abbey.

Terry is survived by six of her 10 children, Pat (Pam), Mary (Paul) Mason, Gerry (Jodi), Kieran (Kelly) all of De Pere, WI, Sheila Byrne, Las Vegas, NV and Kathy (Phil) Anderegg, Chandler, AZ. She is further survived by her 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren with two new additions expected yet this year. She is further survived by her daughter-in-law's; Marilyn Byrne, Kathy (fiancé Jerry Fels) Byrne, Joyce (Rick) Brumlic and Carla (Joe) Wallender. She is also survived by her sister Judy Schumacher, Green Bay, WI, brother Dick (Olive) Conley, Watertown, WI and Sister-in-Law Annette Byrne, Wauwatosa, WI as well as many nieces and nephews and her special friend and companion Dot Olson.

Terry was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bud (June 1995), her sons; Mike, Dick, Tom, and John, and her grandchildren David and Jessica. Also preceding her in death was her brother Fr. Kieran Conley and in-law's Urb Schumacher, Germaine Arvold, Marge & Bill Neary, and Tom Byrne. She was also preceded in death by her BFF Eileen Clancy.

Terry enjoyed her role as 'cheerleader' for all of her kids, grandkids and great grandkids in any/all activities they were involved in. She was immensely proud of each of their accomplishments. Terry was a recipient of the De Pere Rotary "Roses for the Living" award in 2006 honoring her for her many contributions to the De Pere community.

The family would like to extend its sincere thanks to the Staff and Residents of The McCormick Home for their love and support, as well as the Unity Hospice Team headed by John and all of the caregivers who supported our mom over the years! We would also like to thank Judy Schumacher for all the love and support she provided Terry throughout the years and especially during her stay at the McCormick Home.

Friends and Family are welcome to celebrate Mom's life at Our Lady of Lourdes (1307 Lourdes Avenue, De Pere, WI) on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 3 to 6 p.m. with a funeral liturgy presided by Fr. Tim Shillcox following at 6 p.m.
