Mary Elizabeth Antil

November 18, 1917 — September 18, 2019

Mary Elizabeth Flynn Antil, age 101, a longtime resident of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at home. She was born on November 8, 1917 in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late Louis and Marion (McAlpine) Flynn of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Growing up in St. Paul, Mary had fond memories of her education years at the Visitation Convent (era 1936) and St. Catherine's College.

On January 3, 1942, Mary married her beloved husband, Raymond John Antil at St. August Church in South St. Paul. Raymond was called to the Lord on January 6, 1996.

Mary lived in her home on Mission Road for 55 years, where she loved to entertain. She loved spending summers at the family cottage in Annandale, Minnesota with family and friends. An avid Green Bay Packers fan, game day was always special to Mary. She was a mother that loved her children and nurtured them in the manner she was raised by her loving parents. Family and religion were very important to her. Mary's zeal for life was evident in her involvement as a St. Matthew's Parish member and their Christian Mother's organization, the Oneida Golf Club and Service League of Green Bay, the Allouez Beautification Society, Green Bay Antiquarians and the President of the Venture Ski Club for over 45 years. Her hobbies were many, and her favorites were traveling, skiing, reading and keeping up with the lives of those she loved. Mary is especially known for spreading her love to others with the gift of her homemade caramels. Mary will be forever missed and remembered by the many lives she touched throughout her many years.

Mary is survived by her four children: John, Robert, Mary Jo Antil, and Nancy Antil Lord, and two grandchildren: Meghan (John) Thompson, and Michael Lord.

Mary was also preceded in death by her two brothers and sisters-in-law: Dr. Louis(Cathy) Flynn and John Robert (Nancy) Flynn and daughter-in-law Pat.

Visitation will be held from 9:30am to 11:00am on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at St. Matthews Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthews Street, until the time of the service. A Mass will be held for Mary at 11:00 am with Father Bob Kabat officiating. Private interment will take place at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.

The family would like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to Angels Touch, unity Hospice, and her caregivers at her home, who gave loving care to Mom.

And especially to her daughter Mary Jo, for all her love and devotion throughout the many years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charities.

"Mom, your passing has made me realize that every second we spent together was an opportunity to say I love you. We became so close these past years and shared so much. Thank you for being the funny, energetic and wonderful mom who gave me so much to live for in life. The memories with you will always keep me smiling. Tears will be shed because I will miss you terribly, but I know you're in a better place. You lived a 'wonderful life'!
Love forever, Mary Jo"
