Marlea L. Schulz, age 85, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015. She was born in Gresham, WI on June 23, 1929, a daughter of the late George and Leona (Eggers) Schmidt. Marlea attended Bowler High School, Langlade Normal School, Antigo College and received her Master's Degree from UW-Oshkosh.
In a career that spanned 38 years, Marlea began teaching in 1949 at the Texas School and moved to Pulaski in 1952 where she taught until 1961. She later taught in Bonduel until her retirement in 1990.
Marlea was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many positions, such as a Sunday school teacher, Relief Society and as a seminary teacher. Marlea was active in W.E.A and N.E.A teacher associations. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
Along with a lifetime of service outside the home, Marlea was also a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and sister. She leaves behind her children: Randall (Susan) Brudnicki, Ronald (Jody) Brudnicki, JoNell (Jay) Wells, Denis (Louise) Brudnicki, Larry (June) Brudnicki, LaRae (Bill) Ganz, Leon (Lori) Brudnicki, Jillene Brudnicki and Kellie (Shane) Brudnicki-Ferguson; 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren (with 1 expected); siblings Armond "Dan" (Annette) Schmidt, George "Bud" (Charlotte) Schmidt, Rose (the late Jim) Churchill, Connie (Austin) Newcomb and Carol (Jack) Lowder as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edward Schulz and her sisters Lavon Andrus and Carmen Thiex.
The family sends special thanks to the staff of Heartland Hospice, Audra and especially dear friends and care takers Kathy and Ralph.
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Wednesday, March 4 from 9 to 11 AM at THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS (651 Pinehurst Avenue, Green Bay, WI). Funeral Services will follow at 11 AM with Bishop Rodney D. Millett officiating. Interment will be in Roosevelt Cemetery, Gresham.
