Mark Blase Pinkert went to eternal rest on February 23, after a gallant and courageous struggle with Parkinsonism. Mark was born on July 7, 1959, in Memphis, Tennessee to John and Elizabeth (Haen) Pinkert. After graduating high school, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Special Forces for six years.
In 2007, Mark met Cheryl Cooper and they began their “Happily Ever After” life. They were soulmates immediately. They enjoyed everyday together, which also included traveling, raising grandkids, and buying their dream home which they remodeled together. Their home was always open to share with family and friends, especially the backyard, which they transformed into their summer oasis. This was evident on their wedding day, held in their backyard on August 3, 2019.
Mark was a kind and loving soul who was always willing to help everyone. He was a jack of all trades and could build or fix almost anything. He was looking forward to using these skills more after retirement. He loved Nascar, Budweiser, and his sweet little Abby.
Mark is survived by his devoted wife and soulmate, Cheryl Cooper, her children, Kristi and Jason, and their children of whom he was Papa to Kendall, Brynn, Tai, Leo, and great grandchild, Ka’Staria. He is further survived by his mother, Beth, siblings, Pete (Linda), Shawn, Kathy (Mark), and sister-in-law, Dana; in-laws, Scott (Brigette) and their children, Mark, and Mike Cooper; and Mark's children, Tony, Shannon, Cindy and their families, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, John, and brothers, Jeff and Rocky.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI), Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 1:30 to 3:30 PM. A memorial service will follow at 3:30 PM with full military honors.
Mark's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.
