Marilyn J. Turtenwald, age 88, of Pound, WI, passed away Monday, June 28, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Lydia Marks.
After graduating from high school in the Milwaukee area, Marilyn married Richard Turtenwald, March 4, 1950. The couple shared 68 years together as husband and wife before Dick passed away, July 1, 2018. Marilyn and Dick were blessed with 4 children: Sandra (James) Larson, Richard A. (Joanne) Turtenwald, Susan (Robert) Peters and Randy (Juli) Turtenwald. Marilyn devoted her life to raising her family.
Along with being a patient mother she was an excellent seamstress. She volunteered at HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital. She also worked as an election poll worker in the Town of Brazeau for many years. Marilyn was involved in her church as a key holder and was part of the quilting group.
Marilyn is survived by her 4 children; 10 grandchildren: Nicole, Tara, Richard M., Kristen, Alyssa, Steve, Chris, Mike, Ryan, and Daniel; 9 great-grandchildren: Breven, Bryce, Sophia, Richard T., Landon, Violet, Noah, Jas, and Jordan; a brother, Bud Marks.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Turtenwald and her 6 sisters.
Visitation will be held at Beaver American Lutheran Church (N4557 19th Rd., Pound, WI), Friday, July 9, 2021 from 2 to 4 PM. A funeral service will follow at 4 PM with Pastor Christina Forsythe officiating. Newcomer- Green Bay Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
