Marilyn J. (Malich) Nikowitz, 86, Green Bay, went to be with her Savior on Monday, November 18, 2013.
She was born on September 21, 1927 in Chicago, IL, to the late John & Anna Malich.
She married Dr. Leopold "Leo" K. Nikowitz on September 9, 1950.
Marilyn worked to help Leopold through medical school while raising the oldest three children. After moving to Green Bay in 1955, raising her family of nine became Marilyn's full time job. In later years, Marilyn worked at Hallmark and Wisconsin Research.
Marilyn was a Christian woman and belonged to St. Francis Xavier Cathedral since the early 50's. Marilyn enjoyed attending weekly mass and all religious holidays.
Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include sons,Leo (Kathy), Michael and Neal (Janine) all of Green Bay; daughters, Anne (Greg) Pellerin, Beaver Dam, Barbara (Tom) Hoppe, Claire Nikowitz, Diane (Rocky) Compton and Elaine (Alvin) Truckey all of Green Bay area; grandchildren, Rebekah (Jonathan) Wilson, Elmherst, IL, Caleb Pellerin, Milwaukee,Tom (Mandy) Nikowitz, Stevens Point, WI, Eric (Jean) Compton, Portland, OR, Adam (Sarah) Compton, Monroe, WI, Jill (Zach) Montie, Mikayla (Al) Patasek, Bob Nikowitz, Sam Nikowitz, Rachel Truckey and Luke Truckey all in the Green Bay area; great grandchildren, Kate, Jack and Grace Wilson and Hailey Montie; brother, John (Barb) Malich, Lisle, IL; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband; and 3 year old daughter, Frannie.
Friends may call from 10:00am until 11:00am on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, 139 S. Madison St., Green Bay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Thursday at the church with Rev. John Girotti officiating. Entombment will be at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
Marilyn's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Vincent Hospital and Ledge View Nursing Center for their wonderful care.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
