Marilee "Malibu" Kazik

October 3, 1949 — May 30, 2024

Marilee “Malibu” (Tank) Kazik, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, auntie and friend, passed gently into the arms of Jesus as a result of Parkinson’s Disease while surrounded by her family on May 30, 2024. Marilee came into the world on October 3, 1949. The only daughter of Harold and Beatrice (Kvaley) Tank, she grew up in Green Bay, WI and graduated Southwest High School. She went on to attend cosmetology college. In 1970 she met her soulmate, Edwin Kazik, and they married on July 8, 1972, at Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Green Bay. Edwin and Malibu made their home in Sobieski, WI, where they built their home (literally) and raised their two daughters, Karie and Stacey. Many days were spent together building that home and enjoying sunshine on their deck. Edwin and Malibu would have celebrated 52 years of marriage this July.

Marilee loved spending time with her family and was exceptionally talented as a crafter and artist. She spent most of her spare time (which was very spare) sewing her latest crafting project, doing counted cross stitch, rosemaling her latest beautiful piece and decorating cakes. Marilee was also an EMT for Tri-County Rescue Squad for 10 years. She was very involved at her church of 45 years, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Little Suamico, WI. Always in the nursery, teaching Sunday School, volunteering in the kitchen, or teaching a craft workshop at Summer VBS, she gave not only her time, but her positive and encouraging energy to everyone around her. Over 25 years of Marilee’s life were spent working at St. Vincent Hospital where she became the Supervisor of Environmental Services. She led the department with that same positive energy and grace until her retirement.

Marilee is survived by her loving husband, Edwin, her daughters Karie (Tim) Peters of De Pere, Stacey (Scott) Raduenz of Town of Scott, six beautiful granddaughters- Mikayla Wade, Sydney Wade, Taylor Raduenz, Ashley Raduenz, Grace Wagner and step-granddaughter Sierra Peters. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Beatrice Tank, her infant brother, John Tank, her father- and mother-in-law, Ervin and Elsie Kazik, numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Her family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Country Villa Assisted Living in Pulaski, WI, where she spent the last year of her life and received wonderful care from the loving and compassionate staff, and the incredible staff of St. Croix Hospice, who helped to care for Marilee and her family during the last three weeks of her time with us here. The family would also like to thank Malibu’s very special friend, Lee Hoeft, who spent countless hours helping her family with taking Marilee to doctor’s appointments and spending quality time with her in conversation and beautiful friendship.

Marilee’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church (1253 County Road J, Little Suamico, WI) from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Stacy Malzhan officiating.

She will be laid to rest beside her parents at Hillside Cemetery in Angelica, WI.

Marilee “Malibu” “Boo” “Grandma Boo” “Auntie Boo” will be dearly missed.
Well done good and faithful servant. Well done.
Now rest in peace and fly with the angels.
We love you most. Yes way.
