Marie Margaret (Albers) Denissen, 98, passed into the hands of our Lord on Thursday, December 23, 2020, due to complications of COVID-19. She was born May 19, 1922, one of seven children of George and Harriet (Denissen) Albers. On September 9, 1944, she was united in marriage to Robert J. Denissen. Together they raised their four children: Robert Jr. "Felix", Paul, Mark, and Anne.
Marie was born and raised in De Pere. She settled in Allouez with her husband Robert where she lived in a homestead they built together. In 2016, she moved to an apartment at Allouez Parkside Village. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and meticulous homemaker, cook, and seamstress. She will be remembered for her kindness and compassion. Marie also spent years as an active member of St. Matthew Catholic Church and was part of the funeral choir. She shared her talents as a Girl Scout Leader. She loved walking and was an avid gardener.
Marie is survived by her children: Paul (Doris) Denissen, Mark (Annette) Denissen, Anne Denissen; grandchildren: Andrea (Tom) Demers, Matt (Tarynn) Denissen, Ryan Skrivanie, Alicia Skrivanie; step-grandchildren: Simon (Jerilyn) Suster, Jared (Ashley) Suster; great-grandchildren: Emersyn Strainis, Connor Denissen, Payten Denissen, Carson Denissen; step-great grandchildren Cruz and Titus Suster; sister Blanche Eckers; sister-in-law Grace Albers. In addition, she is survived by many loving nieces and nephews from both the Albers and Denissen family and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Harriet (Denissen) Albers; husband Robert; her son Robert Jr. "Felix"; sisters: Helen (Norbert) Van Vonderen, Katherine (Francis) DuPuis and Adele (Robert) Collaer, brothers: Clem Albers and Eugene (Mary) Albers and brother-in-law Jerry Eckers.
Visitation for Marie will be held on Thursday, January 7th, 2020 at St. Matthew Catholic Church from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM with Fr.
