Margit Olson

Margit Olson passed away at her home on Sunday, May 25, 2014, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Margit was born and grew up in Escanaba Michigan. She attended school and then was involved with Lake State Industries and Pathways until she moved to Green Bay in 2001. In Green Bay, she worked at Aspiro and Goodwill. Margit was a member of the Packerland Jets and loved Special Olympic bowling.

Margit loved singing and music. She was a beautiful artist and loved to share her art work with everyone. Being a devout Packer fan, moving to Green Bay was a dream come true.

Margit loved life, loved to be with people, and especially to give wonderful hugs. She loved to travel and try new things. Margit was loved by many people and touched the lives of all who worked with her.

Margit's life will be celebrated on Saturday, May 31 at St. John Lutheran Church where she was an active member. The church is located at 2700 Babcock Road in Ashwaubenon. Visitation and a time to share stories will be held in the fellowship hall between 11 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. People attending are asked to wear Green Bay Packer colors in memory of her favorite thing in the world. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m.

Margit was preceded in death by her mother and father (Dorothy and Arthur W. Olson) and her brother, Warren William Olson. She is survived by three sisters: Mary (Russell) Beaver of Escanaba, Jeanne (Jim) Fritz of Escanaba, and Birgit (Jim) Ruotsala of Green Bay; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established. Memorials may be directed to Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, WI 54301.
