Margaret Khoury-Burnham

February 18, 1949 — August 15, 2014

Margie Khoury Burnham went to be with our Lord in her heavenly home on Friday, August 15, 2014 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Marge was the loving daughter of Issak (Zak) Khoury of Iron Mountain and Lillian (Waytulonis) of Crystal Falls, Mi. She was the granddaughter of the late John and Margaret Khoury , Iron Mountain pioneers and for whom was named. Marge is survived by many cousins and lifelong friends both in Green Bay and the Iron Mountain area. She will be missed by many.

Margie graduated with the Kingsford High School class 1967, Northern Michigan University in 1971 with a degree in Education and had advanced classes in education from Wisconsin universities. Her career in elementary education spanned many years in the Green Bay area schools. Her real love was in the classroom with her "little bunnies" who she cared for each day. She had a tender heart and soft touch for all of the little ones in her elementary classes.

Although Margie had a small immediate family, many people thought of Margie as a "Sister Friend" as she had a wonderful way of making others feel special and as though she WAS your very best friend, which she was to many. She went out of her way to get to know people who crossed her life's pathway. Marge was a beautiful person on the outside but her real beauty was on the inside as she genuinely cared about the people in her life and those she was about to meet!

Some of her fondest memories were around her summer cottage at North Lake in Spread Eagle, WI where she enjoyed sun filled summer days and cool nights on the water surrounded by her flowers and fauna. She cared for many animals over the years and currently has her loving dog named Pappion (The baby) and her cat , Red. They too, will miss her loving touch.

Margie resided in Green Bay for most of her adult life and married John Burhman. In later years her companion was Andy Foller who preceded her in death. A special thanks to her current special friends, Jean Drewieske and Pedro Hernandes and all of the staff at the St Vincent's Davita Dialysis Center whose staff fondly called Margie " The Princess" as she went there for her many kidney treatments.

Visitation will be held from 8:30am until 10:00am, Friday, August 22, 2014, at Holy Cross Catholic Parish, 3009 Bay Settlement Road. Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday with Rev. Michael Weber, O. Praem. officiating. Please join us in our good bye to Margie and plan to share memories.
