Louis A. "Louie" Kitchenakow, age 77, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 28, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 17, 1945 in Keshena, WI, son of the late Louis A. Kitchenakow Sr. and Elizabeth N. Moon.
Louie attended Shawano High School. He enlisted in the US Army and proudly served his country, stationed in Korea, until his honorable discharge. Louie married Mary Weichbrod, March 24, 1973 in Green Bay. They were married 43 years before Mary passed away in 2016. Louie was a table games dealer at Oneida Casino for over 20 years.
Louie was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing. He also worked on cars as a hobby and especially enjoyed classic cars. He was a proud member of the Menominee Nation. His grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Louis is survived by his 3 children: Brandie (Paul) Neja, Jodie Kitchenakow and Andrew (Stacey) Kitchenakow; 6 grandchildren: Autumn, Brenna, Cera, William, Alivia and Nicholas and 6 siblings: Julie Katchenago, Carol (John) Chapman, Jennie Kitchenakow, Regina Kitchenakow, Michael Kitchenakow and Kenneth Kitchenakow. He is further survived by a tribe of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Mary, Louie was preceded in death by 6 siblings: Teresa Kitchenakow, Norman Kitchenakow Sr., Delores Kitchenakow, Anthony Kitchenakow Sr., Perry Kitchenakow and John Henry Kitchenakow.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer-Green Bay Chapel (340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay), Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 4 to 7 PM. A memorial service will follow at 7 PM with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to the family are appreciated.
