Lorraine Shiner, 90, formerly of Escanaba, MI., passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay, WI., on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. She was born on September 3, 1929 to the late Herman and Alice (Taylor) Erickson in Escanaba.
She is a graduate of St. Joseph High School, class of 1948 in Escanaba. Lorraine married the love of her life Clarence Shiner on September 22, 1951.
After marriage, Lorraine and Clarence went on to have two children: Jamie and Charles Shiner. Along with raising two children, she took on a job as the Executive Director for Community Action Agency. Having this job was the highlight of her career.
She loved to go to the casino, traveling, her dogs, and spending time with her family.
Lorraine is survived by her two children: Jamie (Teresa) Shiner and Charles (Joyce) Shiner; grandchildren: Matt (Sarah) Shiner and Jill (Tracy) Vickers; great-grandchildren: Hadley and Evan Vickers. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Clarence; her sister Elaine Olsen and her brother Ray Erickson.
Due to the current environment surrounding COVID-19, the family has decided to have a private service at a later date. Entombment for Lorraine will take place at Gardens of Rest in Wells, MI.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's Hospital for doing all they could to make sure Lorraine was cared for and kept comfortable.
