Lois L. "Lewy" Drath, age 87, of Sobieski, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021 at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. As her time drew near, she gathered her family close and spent cherished moments with her daughters and grandchildren. She was born July 3, 1933 in Topeka, KS, daughter of the late William and Irene (Atwood) Jones.
Lois married Edwin H. Drath, June 24, 1950 in Abrams, WI. They shared 63 loving years as husband and wife before Edwin passed away in 2014. Lois and Edwin were blessed with 2 daughters to whom Lois devoted all of her time. She always said her daughters were her heart. Religion was very important to Lois as a woman of strong faith, trusting that God's plan was best.
After Edwin retired, they traveled extensively across the United States in their motor home. They visited every state except Hawaii and Alaska. Lois and Edwin spent 20 years wintering in Florida before they resided winters in California. Lois was the "Hostess with the Mostest" and loved entertaining in her home. She was an active member of the Red Hatters, the Lois Club and the Bay Sammers Camping Club. She was also a talented golfer, bowler and cook/baker, known especially for her homemade whole wheat buns. Lois was full of spunk right to the very end, living her life to the fullest with no regrets. She was a source of "awesomeness," passing this on to those she leaves behind. Her friends and family will remember her as the person that would bend over backwards to help anyone in need.
Lois is survived by her 2 daughters, Denise (Mark) Brefczynski and Pamela (Craig) Nicklas; 6 grandchildren: Trisha Duchateau, Travis (Stephanie) Duchateau, Troy (Kristin) Duchateau and Trevor Drath and Dawn and Derek Nicklas; 12 great-grandchildren: Colin, Cody, Katie, Cassie, Gavin, April Lois, Ashlynn, Athena, Skyflower, Jerel, Geoffrey and Kayden and 2 brothers, Donald and Orby (Betty) Jones. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Jackie Jones, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many, many close, lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin; 2 sisters, Agnes Jones and Berniece (Robert) O'Connor and a brother, William A. Jones.
Visitation will be held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church (1731 St. Agnes St., Green Bay), Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 10 AM to 1 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1 PM with Pastor Scott Malme officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Abrams, WI.
