Lois Bergner

August 28, 1927 — October 29, 2014

Lois A. Bergner, 87, passed away October 29, 2014 at Angelus Village Assisted Living, Hobart, WI.

Lois was born in Manitowoc, WI, on August 28, 1927 to the John M. and Rose V. (Siebert) Leschke. She grew up in Manitowoc, WI, attended Lincoln High School and the University of Wisconsin, Madison. On October 16, 1948, she married the love of her life, Harry J. Bergner, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Together they managed operations of the Leschke-Bergner Funeral Home, Manitowoc, WI and the Wrecza-Bergner Funeral Home in Milwaukee. In her younger days, Lois was active in many church organizations in both Manitowoc and Milwaukee. She and Harry retired and moved to Green Bay in 1984, where she enjoyed cooking, reading, travelling, especially spending many winters being a snow bird in Texas. They were avid Green Bay Packer fans and would never miss a game. Most of all, Lois loved the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lois is survived by four children and their spouses, Larry and Mary Bergner, Manitowoc; Anne and Ken Bahr, Green Bay; Peg and Ed Houston, Green Bay; and Brian and Gina Bergner, Milwaukee. She has also passed on her legacy to her grandchildren; Jason Bahr, Milwaukee; Larry (Dr. Caroline) Houston, Greenville, NC; Heidi (Chris) Bahr Karchnak, Rockville, MD; Lawrence Bergner, Hilo, HI; Stacy (Dr. Scott) Wolfe, Columbia, SC; Brian Bergner, Milwaukee; Theresa (Adam) Smith, Germantown Falls and Kristin (fiancé Richardson Rielly) Bergner, Hartford, CT. Her great-grandchildren Henry and Thomas Wolfe were the light of her life. Lois is also survived by her brother, Dr. Jack (Shirley) Leschke of Oshkosh, and two sister-in-laws, Lucille Bergner and Dorris Rappel, both of Manitowoc. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers-in-law, Clarence Bergner and John Rappel and her parents.

A private Mass will be held at St. Matthew's Church Green Bay. Lois was buried at King Cemetery, King, Wisconsin. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the many staff members and residents at Angelus Village for their support, services and compassion. Special thanks to the Executive Director of Angelus Village, Cassandra Lipinski for her personal attention and loving care of our mother.

The family requests that donations be made to the charity of one's choice.
