Lina Vanden Heuvel, 61, of Bellevue, beloved wife of Gene and mother of Jason, departed this life on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Aurora Baycare Medical Center.

Lina was born on September 30, 1955 in Menominee, MI, daughter of Virginia (Francour) Surk and the late Harold D. Eastburn. Lina's focus in life was her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking in her spare time and loved animals especially her cats. She will also be remembered for her great sense of humor and joke telling.

Her memory will live on with her husband of 40 years Gene and their son Jason (Samantha) Vanden Heuvel, along with two beloved grandchildren, Adele and Corbin. Lina also leaves her mother, Virginia Surk and siblings: Carla (Henry) Allgeyer, Linda (Jim) Sargent, Dan Eastburn, Andy "Mick" (Kerry) Surk, Ken Surk, and Sallie (Steve) Jerovetz. She also leaves a sister-in-law, Sharon Hart and 2 brother-in-laws: Denis (Linda) and Steve (Debbie) Vanden Heuvel, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Lina is preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Marie, a sister, Cheri Eastburn and her father and mother-in-law, Clifford (Evelyn) Vanden Heuvel.

All services are private and at the convenience of the family. The Newcomer Funeral Home of Green Bay is assisting with arrangements.

Lina's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the team at Aurora Baycare Medical Center for the amazing care given to Lina during her stay. They also wish to thank the UW transplant team for their compassion as they assisted Lina and her family with her final gift of organ donation.
