Leopold A. Fronk

Leopold "Leo" A. Fronk passed away peacefully in his home on Sept. 3rd after a hard fought battle against cancer. He was surrounded by his daughters and loving wife Dorothy.
Leo was born Nov. 3rd, 1934 in the town of Franklin to Daniel and Josephine (Zahorik) Fronk. He attended Maple Grove and Reedsville schools, and NWTC. Leo attended Maple Grove Church growing up and still enjoyed attending their annual picnics. He was recently featured in their newsletter reminiscing about stories of childhood friends and games at the school and church.
He began his career as an apprentice for Howard Immel Construction in 1961 when they first went into business, and retired as a superintendent. He was recently honored with his 65 year pin in the Carpenter's Union.
Leo married Dorothy Nelson in 1965 and they would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in October.
In 1980 Leo and Dorothy bought land in Crivitz, WI and Leo built a beautiful A-Frame cabin on the property. Many family and friends enjoyed summer and winter weekends at the cabin in the woods with the spiral staircase. Leo spent a lot of his spare time working on projects around the house and around his kids' homes, and was always willing to share his knowledge to help someone.
After retirement Leo spent time volunteering at Christ Community Church and for Meals on Wheels. Although he was a quiet man, Leo had a strong presence and many friends.
Leo is survived by his wife Dorothy, daughters: Ann Marie Fronk (Peter Smith and his children Andrew and Audrey Smith) and LeAnn (Steve) Krieg; grandchildren: Bart, Leonard, and Philip Burgoyne, Joseph Smith, Justin (Debbie) Hoff, and Lauren and Tyler Krieg; and great-grandchildren: Nora Burgoyne, Charlotte and Conner Hoff. Leo is also survived by sisters-in-law: Nanci Holzner and Diana Adzima, and brothers-in-law: David A. (Sue) Nelson and Jonathon Nelson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three infant siblings, father and mother-in-law, William and Vera Nelson, and brothers-in-law: Herb Holzner and Joe Adzima.
Friends and family may visit at Christ Community Church, 1742 Servant Way, Green Bay; on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm. Private entombment will take place at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Unity Hospice, especially: Amanda, Jolene, and Jennifer, along with the Oncology Department at St. Vincent's Hospital, and the ministry from Pastor John Sell of Christ Community Church.
Donations can be made to American Cancer Society or Christ Community Lutheran Church in Leo's name.
