Leonard C. Marquardt, 89, of Green Bay, beloved husband of the late Carol (Maronek) Marquardt, entered his Heavenly Home, on Monday, October 17, 2016 at his home.
Leonard was born on June 29, 1927 in Lena, WI, son of the late George and Wanda (Lueskow) Marquardt. Throughout his life Leonard was a brick layer, and owner of an aluminum siding company. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and square dancing. He was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan. He enjoyed playing cards and table games, especially with his grandchildren and family. Leonard was known for his ability to fix nearly anything.
He will be sadly missed by his children: Gary Marquardt, Linda (Chris) Peterson, and Barbara (Mark Dudek) Gratz. He also leaves his brothers: Robert (Carol), and Roy (Burnette), in addition to two sister-in-laws: Esther and Irene, and three brother-in-laws: Frank Bichanich, Leonhard Zorn, and Donald Heise. Leonard leaves his 6 beloved grandchildren: Amanda Marquardt, Steve Peterson, Michelle Peterson, Daniel (Sarah) Peterson, Jennifer Gratz, and Kayla Gratz and eight very special great grandchildren. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. Leonard is preceded in death by his siblings: Harold Marquardt, Lorraine Bichanich, George Marquardt, Io Mae Zorn, Ila Heise, and Wilbert (Merle) Marquardt, along with a granddaughter, Rebecca Manzke.
Visitation will be held at Calvary Lutheran Church, 1301 S. Ridge Road, Green Bay on Friday, October 21st from 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM. A funeral service will follow at 2:30 PM in the Church. Entombment will take place with graveside prayers on Saturday, October 22nd at 10:30 AM at Wisconsin Memorial Cemetery in Brookfield, WI with a time of gathering from 11 AM - 12:00 PM at Wisconsin Memorial Park in the Family Center North Chapel.
