Leo Borley, 84, of Green Bay, went home on July 27, 2023 at Edenbrook of Green Bay. He was born on May 1, 1939 to Joseph and Julia (Dantinne) Borley in Green Bay. He was united in marriage to Mary DeBauche and they were blessed with five children. Leo worked as a Maintenance Mechanic for Georgia Pacific for over 35 years. Later in life he married, Lynn Svoboda, and she preceded him in 2014. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul. Leo loved working on cars, watching Motor Trend and Game Show Network. When he wasn't busy tinkering in the yard or the garage you could find him at the table with a new stack of scratch offs.
Not only did Leo work on cars he often went to stock car races in Luxemburg and would frequent many area car shows with cars he restored. Tuesdays in summer he would "Coach" volleyball and enjoyed the time he got to watch his grandchildren's games as well. The El Camino was a favorite in parades, blasting polka music, choosing the rotation of grandchildren to ride along was always a challenge. No matter the car, Leo would check the roads and tires by making "cheerios" all over the road. Leo had a big heart, and would always donate if asked, there isn't enough wall space to hang all the calendars he received in return for his contributions. Another part of his weekly trips around town, getting tootsie rolls for his sweet tooth and bird food for all the feeders. Anywhere he went he knew someone, and shared a smile with his witty sense of humor.
Leo is survived by his four loving daughters: Katherine (Bryan) Stoll, Kris (Carrie) Borley, Shelly (Dean) Destree, and Jen (DJ) Weise; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two step-children: Angel (Dan) Smith and Jody Svoboda he is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Dan Borley, and six brothers: Joseph, Merle, Earl, Norville, Wilbert, and Mark.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 9:30 am until 11:30 am at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Congregation, 710 Baird Street, with Mass beginning at 11:30 am. Entombment will take place at Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
Leo's family would like to extend a special thank you to Moment's Hospice and to his care givers Patty, Dawn and Melissa as well as the Edenbrook staff, especially Sue. Our family could not have done this without her genuine cares for dad. Her sense of humor, utter sassiness and endless compassion for dad and our family was absolutely priceless.
