Lawrence "Larry" W. Beno, age 70, of Green Bay, Wisconsin passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. He was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin on August 17, 1944 to George and Mildred (Murphy) Beno. Larry was a graduate of Green Bay East High School, Class of 1962. He was joined in marriage to Michele "Mikki" Hickey on June 25, 1983 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay.
Larry was proud of being a veteran of the United States Army, having served from June 16, 1965, to June 10, 1967. His final tour of duty was at Phan Rang, Vietnam. He was then employed for 30+ years at Megtec Systems in De Pere, retiring on June 27, 2006. He enjoyed riding motorcycle for many years, and traveling around the country with his wife and the Green Bay Fun Club. Larry was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, and had season tickets for the UWGB Phoenix Men's basketball team since 1989. He also enjoyed music, especially jazz, attending many concerts and music festivals. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, and was especially proud of his Irish heritage.
Larry is survived by his wife, Mikki; sisters, Georgia Beno and Mary (Victor) Price; nieces, Erin and Anna Price; nephew, Eric (Mary) Price; and his two feline companions, Reggie and Rusty Beno.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his mother- and father-in-law, Emily and James Hickey.
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Saturday, January 31, 2015 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Ss. Peter and Paul Parish, 710 North Baird Street, Green Bay. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tony Cirignani presiding. Full military honors will be held immediately following Mass. Burial will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make memorials to the Bay Area Humane Society or the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 224, Green Bay, in honor of Larry.
