LaVerne June Parsche, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away September 24, 2013, from a long illness. She was born August 11, 1923, in Green Bay to the late Theo and Minnie (LaFortune) Mangles. LaVerne was united in marriage to Melvin Parsche on January 31, 1948. They spent the next 53 years together in Green Bay until Melvin's passing on May 29, 2001.
LaVerne enjoyed knitting new born baby hats for the hospitals, playing cards with her dear friends, reading, spending time at the senior center, and of course bingo.
She is survived and will be sadly missed by her daughter, Diane Reed, Green Bay; 2 sons, David and Daniel Parsche both of Green Bay; granddaughter, Cathy (Mike) Opperman; and great-granddaughter, Grace Dianna of Shawano.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sister, Evelyn Proulx; and brother, William Mangles.
Family and friends may call Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 340 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday at the funeral home from 9:30am until the time of service at 10:30am with Pastor Paul Schleis officiating. Entombment will be in Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
